Ed came out to provide an estimate for a new door after my tension spring broke and cracked my old two-car garage door. Ed took his time explaining the differences between the brands they offered–he knew his stuff, so I trusted his opinion. He also didn’t try to up-sell me with extras, like a new opener (unlike another company who pushed a new opener as an add-on). To top everything off, Ed spent 45 minutes clamping my broken springs so I could use my door until it was able to be replaced. And he did that without any indication from me that I was going to use Benson to complete the work. The installation of the new door went just as smoothly and the two installers took care of the work quickly and professionally. They hauled the old one away and cleaned up behind themselves. All in all, the new door looks great and is much better quality the builder-grade door we replaced.

My garage door was fixed this morning by Benson Garage Door. The service and the pricing were both excellent. The garage door spring was broken a few weeks ago. After watching a video online, I ordered the part and tried to fix the door by myself. Unfortunately the job was not that easy, and I had to hire a handyman after an exhausting weekend. But that handyman was not able to fix the door either! Finally I found Benson, with the recommendations from several friends. I wish I had found this family-operated company earlier to avoid all those previous headaches! It only took them a half hour to repair my garage door and all the problems were gone. Benson replaced the garage door in my townhouse with a new wooden door and the entire process was really quick and painless. I was in the process of getting my home ready for sale and dealt with them entirely by email. The original estimate on the door was 6-8 weeks since I was looking for something specific but they did end up installing it in just over 4 weeks. The price was competitive and I’m really happy with the results.

One of the springs broke on our garage door, rendering the opener inoperable and the door nearly impossible to open manually. At the recommendation of a co-worker, I called Benson Garage Door. The service technician, Gary, arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the springs. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional, and the price seemed fair enough. It was refreshing to receive good service, and support a small local business.

Just my luck, my garage door opener conked out in the open position. I called a few garage door service companies and Benson made the most favorable impression over the phone. Friendly, asked the right questions, sounded like they cared. They found an appointment for me early the next day. But my door was still stuck open so she sent someone over to help me with that! All before my actual appointment! Can’t beat that kind of service. Gary came on time today, removed the old opener, installed the new one, tightened the bolts on both garage doors. Before he left, Gary explained everything he’d done, programmed the remote to open both doors and made sure I knew how everything worked. Benson’s prices are competitive. I would definitely do business with them again. If it makes any difference to my review, I am a business owner myself and Benson fulfilled the same expectations I would have of my own business.

Great service! A torsion spring snapped in my two-car garage door on Sunday night. I called Monday morning at 7:30 AM. Gary came out and fixed the issue before lunchtime.

He completed the work solo while I was doing work and errands around the house. I got two springs and a hinge replaced. He balanced the door and did a safety check.

My family has been using Benson as long as I remember, ever since living in my childhood home in Derwood, MD. Decades and houses later, we have called on Benson any time we had a garage issue. This time they came out because our outside panels were problematic. Gary was able to fix one of them that we haven’t gotten to work in 2+ years, and replaced the other one easily. He was SO FAST! They don’t try to pressure you into buying anything; he could have easily charged me to change both panels but just fixed one and replaced the second. We are always happy with their service and have also recommended them to others. If you need your garage serviced, don’t hesitate to call Benson!
